Its not the end of the world, but that will not be for lack of trying by George Bush. The American people have reelected the worst president of my lifetime, probably the worst in the nation’s history, only Buchannon may have done more damage. I expect that he will continue running up the deficit, invading the wrong country, with inadequate forces, destroying the wall between church and state, and otherwise eroding our civil liberties, not to mention his attacks on the environment. Bush makes virtues of irresponsibility and incompetence.

To all of you who voted for George Bush. He’s your president, not mine. I do not trust him in any way shape or form. All the damage he does is on your head. I voted for Kerry. Nothing Bush does is in any way my fault. I want that very clear. Don’t pass any of the blame to me.

Safely home at last. Well I'm not sure safely is the right word, but I am home on Zoron. It remains to be seen if anyone is safe with Anelis on the Throne.

Mika refuses to let me out of her sight. Jalan tries to keep me in sight as well. He's crawling now and pursues me if he can and isn't hungry. Goldie does not approve of Jalan being out of the playpen, which he opened twice.

The rest of the family is running at full tilt right now, trying to find out how the coup has changed things. Add in the replacement of at least half the Jedi Council at the same time and we have an entirely new political situation.

Much has happened. The attacks on the Firefly have finally come to a head. She and Lt. Ezri were attacked on the steps of Darkfire Industire's new office. A dartgun was used, injecting a poison. They had already planted a bomb on the Lass' landing pad at the local spaceport. The Lass has a broken wrist and a bad temper. The Firefly is in a coma.

The Ladd has summoned the Paladin back from his expedtion to rescue Alida. He now sits at the Firefly's bedside.

The Paladin tells me that most of the passengers of Alida's schuttle were marooned on Gamorr. Their assailants then apparnatly placed thier location on the auction block. Prince Xisor appears to have been among the bidders.

An odd plan. To sell their locaion after putting them in a place almost garranteed to kill them suggests a conflict in the attacker's motives. Was this meant to be an an attack on the Jedi, or Telos or just a money making scheme. Perhaps the contractor got greedy and sold the location behind his clients back?

I shall have my agents look into this question.

The Jedi Council has voted to reject Knight Darien Lell's resignation despite his marriage to Lord Steele's daughter. Only time will tell if they were wise to do so. Master Adan Caudell clearly does not think it was. I suspect there are deeper issues here.

I talked to Tal about it. She says that Lord Mathem feels the Council did the right thing for everyone. I will have to watch this story from both ends.

The real interest here is what it tells me about Master Caudell. But too soon to start drawing conclusion about him.

Alida D'med's wedding was attacked. That's rather bad form. But we live in times that are not just interesting but fascinating.

There is no information on who or why. Only a relatively major player could mustered an attack on the scale reported. I will have my agents look into those questions on general principles, but so far at least it's not Zoron's concern.

Xanatos Du'Cruet is reported to have been wounded. He is a likely target. Presumably he has many local enemies on his homeworld. But do any of them have this level of resources?

Tara Alderson is a far bigger target. The purpose would be to loosen her hold on Telos, and Arridor. There are many who would find that appealing.

Are the Jedi behind it? Octavia was present as well Alida. The chance to recover both of them might tempt Caudell. If so he would be likely to turn next to the Paladin. At that point it does become my concern. I will have that possibility particularly investigated. But the whole affair feels wrong for the Jedi.

But all of this is speculation. I need hard information before I decide what, if anything to do about the attack.

The one certain fact is that this story will be worth watching to the end.
